 If my manager told me they just fired a graphic designer because AI is free and fast, my reaction would be a mix of concern and understanding. On one hand, I would understand the appeal of AI's efficiency and cost-effectiveness, as it can generate designs quickly and at a lower cost. However, I would also express concern about the potential downsides of this decision.


I would explain that while AI can certainly be a useful tool in graphic design, it lacks the human touch, creativity, and nuanced understanding that a skilled designer brings to the table. Graphic designers offer more than just technical skills—they provide original ideas, a deep understanding of brand identity, and the ability to interpret and translate complex concepts into visually compelling designs. These qualities are difficult, if not impossible, for AI to replicate fully.


Additionally, I would point out that relying solely on AI could lead to generic or less impactful designs, as AI is typically based on existing data and patterns, rather than creating something entirely new or tailored to a specific need. It's important to strike a balance between utilizing AI for efficiency and retaining human designers who can bring creativity and innovation to the process.
